Dive
the clear blue waters off The Farne Islands and Northumberland Coast.
Dawson of Seahouses offers Wreck Dives, Scenic Dives and Seal Dives
to suit novices and experienced divers alike. And to make it even
better, we offer diving all year round!
Wreck
Dives
The Farne Islands represents one of the most dangerous places to
shipping around the British Isles, and have claimed many victims.
There are many wreck dives in the 20 - 30 metre range, these include
the 'Somali', 'Chris Christianson', 'Abyssinnia', 'San Andreas',
'Brittannia' and 'Acklivety'. Some are now broken up and very scenic,
covered in sea life. There are also some deeper wrecks available.
Scenic Dives
These range from 5 - 30 metres, during which you will see the very
friendly Grey Seals amongst a vast array of Anemone, Dead Men's
Fingers and many different crustaceans. The younger seals are often
more inquisitive than the divers - sometimes coming for a closer
look and nibbling on fins!
We
currently have two boats, 'Three Sisters' and 'Julie D', both fully
licensed and insured to carry 12 divers. Hot drinks available throughout
the day. Our
dive charters have been established for 6 years, owned and skippered
by Jonathan Dawson who has 14 years experience of diving along the
Northumberland Coast. Dive charters take place from Seahouses Harbour
in North Northumberland, where there is ample parking and a wide
range of facilities for divers and visitors.
